Garden Fresh

Here is some of the produce from our garden, and a toy car for size reference. There are Roma tomato’s, lemon cucumber, strawberry popcorn, and tomatillas. All but the romas are heirloom varieties. I am planning to keep most of the seed for planting next year since I could only buy a small amount this year as heirloom seed gets expensive. Everything has done very well. The corn and cucumber seem to resist insects and rot better than most of the hybrid varieties I have used in the past, and seem very drought tolerant.

Below are some mammoth sunflowers and some daisy-like sunshine sunflowers. I love them! They really brighten up any day, rain or shine.

About nigerianmeadows

I am a homeschooling mother of 2 autistic children and cook gluten-free, I homestead on 2.5 acre and raise goats and chickens for dairy and eggs, I garden, cook, quilt, and take photographs. I build, paint, scrub, and dance on tables. I am the ultimate WOMAN!!! Oh, yeah, and I like my husband a whole lot (he is the one that makes all this possible, and he loves me like no other!)
