Today’s Notes on the Farm

It looks like Hallie is beginning to fill her udder for kidding this month. It seems like we wait forever for babies! I am looking forward to getting some milk again, as well as playing with babies.

The Chaffhaye is still wonderful, though the goats want more as it gets colder. I put out some beet pulp this morning to help with energy and it seems to be helping to satisfy them.

I am feeling baby movement in Cinnamon and Ammi as well. They are due to kidd the first week of January, and I think they have multiples! Cinnamon is getting huge and seems to need more feed than Ammi. Let’s hope for lots of does!

Mocha, our smallest baby out of Cinnamon, is thriving on the Chaffhaye! She is finally as big as her sister, though her bone structure is finer. She is a delicate looking doe, with a shy though friendly nature. I am glad to see her growing so well now. I guess she was just a late bloomer!

About nigerianmeadows

I am a homeschooling mother of 2 autistic children and cook gluten-free, I homestead on 2.5 acre and raise goats and chickens for dairy and eggs, I garden, cook, quilt, and take photographs. I build, paint, scrub, and dance on tables. I am the ultimate WOMAN!!! Oh, yeah, and I like my husband a whole lot (he is the one that makes all this possible, and he loves me like no other!)
