In Memory

On Memorial Day, a friend and I went to a nearby cemetery. We took some photographs and read headstones, and remembered those who had fallen fighting for our country. Some of those people who are remembered here in the South are the Confederate soldiers. It always interests me how in the end of a war, the winner is the one who was “right” and the other side “wrong”. In any case, I took photographs, and wanted to share them with you. I find cemetery’s to be peaceful places, and feel welcomed there.

I felt like the door was opened a bit to me

An infant. There were a lot of these, made me sad they never saw all life could bring, but also never the bad.

The photographs are beautiful, Jordana. The photo of the Stone Angel is particularly touching.

Where did you find the cemetery? The pictures are great and make one truly reflect on what has taken place over time. What would be different if the outcome had been reversed? We will never know, but there were a lot of lives lost just like in every war. That is what these people do, defend our freedoms every single day with little thanks from many, only a few. So much complaint about lives lost for war, but can you imagine war on our on land again, like back in those days or if we stop fighting overseas, where do people think it will end up? Obviously here because it will follow our troops home. We fight overseas to keep others from coming here and fighting on our land. These people hate the USA and will stop at next to nothing to destroy our country. Sad that it is this way, but they do not like what our country stood for until recently. A lot has been taken away already in a few short years already, but America still stands proud and mourns the loss of those that serve. We should all be proud of the great job they have done to protect us and this country. God bless each and every one. America rises from the fire more times than not, God bless America!
