Waking up this morning to beautiful sky and sunshine after yesterdays harsh storms. I have seen more tornado action in our town than anywhere else I have lived! Last year we watched one form behind our home that hit down a couple miles from our place and we were all evacuated to the school for safety. This time we heard them forming, and they hit a few miles from us in town on the main road we travel. Friends have sustained damage to homes, vehicles, and work-places, but so far everyone I know is safe.
It was interesting watching the animals as the tornado began to form. The chickens started running in crazy circles, the dog took frantic cover, and the goats were strangely quiet and hiding under benches. It started out sounding like far away rumbles of thunder that didn’t end, escalating in sound as the wind whipped the tree’s in circles. You could see the levels of wind blowing branches and leaves in different directions and feel the pressure in the air, and we were not even the ones hit. Amazing! I get a bit of a thrill out of strong storms, even as I watch for my families safety. I feel very blessed that I can’t find any major wind damage on our property, and sad for those that have to deal with damage to theirs.
Very glad to hear you and your animals are all safe. It was a very bad day yesterday.
We’re safe here, too. ♥
I am sooo glad your safe! I can’t even keep up with everyone who was in the path of this storm system. It was really big!
Jordana, Glad you and all are safe. We live less than a mile from the place in Raleigh where 3 children were killed. Neighborhoods all around us are devastated, but the LORD put His hand over us, our animals and all our possessions and kept us unscathed. We were without power until this morning, which made milking interesting, but we are so thankful and blessed!
I’m thankful you remained safe, though it hurts that people were lost, especially children. Everywhere I turn someone has been affected. No one I personally know has been hurt that I’m aware of, but some have homes damaged.
Hi! So happy to hear you and your family are safe. When my husband told me about the storms I thought of some of my family who lives down south and you and your family. Thank God you all are safe!
Would you happen to know of an over the counter pain relever that is GFCFSF by chance? My son has a sore throat and the Ibuprofen he use to take is GF but not CF.
Any information would be appreciated! Thank you!
God bless & Take Care
Hi Patty, thank you, and I hope your family remained safe as well!
We don’t tend to use any drugs for pain generally, at least not the ones on the shelf. You can make willow bark tea, some herbal/healthfood stores may carry it. You can also buy willow bark powder. It’s what aspirin is molded after. Another easy choice is a cup of warm water with honey and fresh squeezed lemon, or gargle with salt water. Just remember to research amounts and/or ask a doctor as I am not one 🙂 We usually stick with the honey and lemon.
